Named after an alternative country artist and raised in a rural corner of New Hampshire, Lyle Hutchins always knew he wanted to be a musician. His songs, inspired by artists like Bon Iver, Ruston Kelly and Snail Mail, offer a unique blend of cathartic Alternative Rock, Americana, and Folktronica that simultaneously tugs on your heartstrings and forces you to crack a wry smile. With the end of his time at college in New Orleans, Lyle is releasing his debut album Flatlander, a fourteen-song narrative which explores the beauty and danger of nostalgia, homesickness and heartbreak, underscored by the trials and tribulations of pursuing an often misunderstood career in music.

MADELyNn MAE

Madelynn Mae always preferred to sing instead of speak, and after picking up viola in the fourth grade, she felt an intense calling to music that led her to pursue a career in it. She got her start playing in bands at School of Rock, and soon started multiple bands of her own, including Chainsaw Boyz in her native St. Louis and The Kissing Disease in New Orleans, where she attends college. Influenced by over-the-top artists like Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury and severely emotional lyricists like Mitski and Fiona Apple, her music blends theatricality with sincerity. Armed with her piano and most recently guitar, she is inspired to write songs by a menagerie of her favorite things like art, literature, and movies, all while adding elements of her personal adversities. Her main message: find beauty in the horror and find horror in the beauty. With her bands, she has built followings in both her home city and her new city, performing at both small house venues and large festivals such as French Quarter Fest and NolaxNola. She is most comfortable on stage, and is ready to take on performing as a separate entity. Now, as she prepares to step out as a solo songwriter, she is able to create an identity that is her’s entirely.

TABITHA LEWIS

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to a middle Tennessee family, Tabitha Lewis has been a performer and artist since early childhood. Her mom, a music educator, and her dad, a baroque trumpeter, put her in classical choir and piano at six years old. By middle school, she had taught herself acoustic guitar and ukulele, and would write her first song in sixth grade. When she graduated high school, she had a decade of experience in various musical settings- which included singing and playing many different instruments in countless contemporary and classical ensembles throughout the years. She found her home performing her own original music, often found on stage with just her voice and her guitar. Currently, she is in her last semester of studying Popular/ Commercial Music at Loyola University New Orleans, where she has spent the last four years honing her craft.  Raised on a variety of music with artists ranging anywhere from Bach to John Mayer to Alison Krauss to Taylor Swift, she blends her classical training with modern sounds to create a space that is uniquely American. Tabitha’s music is an amalgamation of the American south, where listeners can find influences from many native genres and peoples- including (but not limited to) Appalachian folk music, southern hip hop, and New Orleans jazz. She writes poignant lyrics, often exploring topics like modern human relationships, politics, and mental health. Currently, Tabitha is moving out into the world as a musician, artist, and performer- hoping to represent a fresh image in the music industry.
